The Minion Mayhem Continues: A Review of Despicable Me 4
The Minions are back, and they’re as mischievous as ever. In the latest installment of the Despicable Me franchise, our beloved yellow friends are up to their usual antics, causing chaos and mayhem wherever they go. But is this latest film a worthy addition to the series, or is it just more of the same old Minion madness?
The Minions in all their glory
As the film opens, we find Gru (voiced by Steve Carell) attending a school reunion, where he encounters an old rival, Maxime le Mal (Will Ferrell). The two engage in a series of hilarious battles, with the Minions providing plenty of comedic relief along the way. But as the story progresses, things start to get a bit formulaic, with the Minions’ antics becoming more and more predictable.
Gru, the lovable villain
One of the highlights of the film is the introduction of baby Gru Jr., who brings a fresh dynamic to the story. The Minions’ attempts to care for the little one are both heartwarming and hilarious, and provide some of the film’s most memorable moments.
Baby Gru Jr. steals the show
The film’s plot is a bit of a jumbled mess, with multiple storylines that don’t always mesh together seamlessly. But despite this, the film still manages to be a fun, lighthearted romp that’s sure to delight both kids and adults.
The Minions in action
In the end, Despicable Me 4 is a solid addition to the franchise, even if it doesn’t quite live up to the standards set by its predecessors. The Minions are still as lovable as ever, and the film’s humor and heart make it a worthwhile watch.
