The Evolution of Apes: A Cinematic Masterpiece

As I sat in the theater, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of awe at the sheer scale and grandeur of the latest installment in the Planet of the Apes franchise, Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes. The tenth film in the series, directed by Wes Ball, is a visual masterpiece that will leave you on the edge of your seat.

The stunning CGI work brings the apes to life

The film takes place many generations after Caesar’s death, where the apes have established numerous societies, while humans live a feral-like existence. Noa, a chimpanzee of the eagle clan, prepares for a coming-of-age ceremony by collecting eagle eggs with his friends Anaya and Soona. However, a human, Nova, follows Noa home and inadvertently cracks his egg during a scuffle before fleeing. This sets off a chain of events that will change the course of their lives forever.

“The apes have established numerous societies, while humans live a feral-like existence.”

The voice acting is superb, with Owen Teague bringing Noa to life, and Neil Sandilands voicing Koro, Noa’s father. Eka Darville is menacing as Sylva, the leader of the raider tribe, while Lydia Peckham shines as Soona, Noa’s love interest. The two humans who appear in the film, William H. Macy and Freya Allen, add a touch of humanity to the story.

The stunning cinematography brings the world to life

The photography is breathtaking, with the special effects of the apes swinging through the trees and off the cliffs hundreds of feet in the air, making my knees ache it seemed so real. John Paesano’s score is powerful and reminiscent of John Williams’ iconic themes, incorporating Jerry Goldsmith’s original themes from the 1968 film.

The apes’ journey is a thrilling ride

With Disney and 20th Century announcing that Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is the first of a new trilogy, be prepared for a wild ride. This film is a must-see on the big screen, and I give it 3 stars.

Conclusion

Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is a cinematic masterpiece that will leave you on the edge of your seat. With its stunning visuals, superb voice acting, and thrilling storyline, it’s a must-see on the big screen. Don’t miss out on this epic adventure!
