The Apes Are Back: A Review of Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes
As I settled into my seat to watch Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, I couldn’t help but think back to the previous trilogy. Those films were a masterclass in storytelling, with complex characters and thought-provoking themes. So, I was excited to see where this new installment would take us.
The apes are back and better than ever
From the opening scene, it’s clear that this film is going to be a wild ride. The special effects are stunning, with the apes looking more realistic than ever before. But it’s not just the visuals that make this film stand out - the story is engaging and well-paced, with plenty of twists and turns to keep you on the edge of your seat.

One of the things that struck me about this film is how well it balances action and emotion. There are some truly heart-pumping action sequences, but they’re balanced by some really poignant moments of character development. It’s a tricky balance to strike, but the filmmakers pull it off with ease.
The action scenes are intense and thrilling
So, is Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes as good as the previous trilogy? In my opinion, yes. It’s a worthy addition to the franchise, and a must-see for fans of the series. But even if you’re new to the world of the apes, this film is still worth checking out. It’s a thrilling ride from start to finish, with plenty of surprises along the way.
The finale is both thrilling and emotional
