In a hilarious and embarrassing turn of events, some Star Wars fans have taken it upon themselves to review bomb the wrong movie. Yes, you read that right - the wrong movie! Instead of targeting the new Disney+ series, The Acolyte, they’ve been review bombing a completely different title, Acolytes.

Our very own Kate Harrold had the chance to preview The Acolyte and found it to be an “enthralling new era” in the Star Wars franchise. However, not everyone shared the same enthusiasm. A section of the fandom has been review bombing Acolytes, a story that has no connection to Disney’s new TV show.
“That is how ridiculous the hate against the series actually is. People don’t even care, they just want to hate because they can,” said user @JorisTheWise.
Further down the comments, @ladidaix said, “They’re not Star Wars fans, they’re stupid racists.”
Interestingly, when we visited Acolytes’ Rotten Tomatoes page, we couldn’t find the reviews meant for The Acolyte. It seems that fans have realized their mistake and are quickly trying to clean up their mess before more of the internet sees.

It’s sad to see that giving fans new content can be enough to upset them. And yes, while it’s perfectly fine not to enjoy a show and have an opinion, that doesn’t mean you can be hateful just for the sake of it.
