Kalki 2898 AD: The Epic Saga Unfolds
The wait is finally over, and the much-anticipated film, Kalki 2898 AD, has hit the theatres. Starring Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, and Kamal Haasan, this cinematic masterpiece is a mix of Hindu mythology set in a dystopian world. The story revolves around a select few who are on a mission to save the unborn child of Deepika Padukone’s character, who is said to be Kalki, the avatar of Lord Vishnu.

According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Kalki 2898 AD is expected to rake in a whopping Rs 200 crore globally on its first day, making it a record for 2024. In India, the film is projected to bring in Rs 120-140 crore on opening day, a feat no other film has achieved this year.
A Star-Studded Affair
The film boasts of an impressive star cast, including Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan, who have previously worked together in the 1985 film, Geraftaar. Director Nag Ashwin shared his experience of working with the two legends, saying, “I have no idea how to deal with Amitabh Bachchan and Kamal Haasan. I always found it very silly to try and tell them something about their acting or performance. Especially to Mr. Bachchan.”

During an Instagram live session, Prabhas revealed that South Indian heartthrobs Dulquer Salmaan and Vijay Deverakonda are also part of the project. Prabhas expressed his heartfelt gratitude to both actors, saying, ‘Thanks to Dulquer, thanks to Vijay, they made our film bigger.’

The makers of Kalki 2898 AD have unveiled a new poster of Kamal Haasan’s character, Yaskin, on Instagram. In the poster, Kamal Haasan sports a bald look with a crack on his skull. The text on the poster reads ‘The Supreme Yaskin.’
