Glen Powell: The Next Big Thing in Hollywood

Glen Powell, the dashing leading man, is on the cusp of superstardom. With his chiseled features, bright green eyes, and effortless charisma, he’s destined for greatness. In his latest film, “Hit Man,” Powell showcases his versatility as a comedic actor, playing a philosophy professor-turned-fake-hitman.

Glen Powell, the next big thing in Hollywood

In “Hit Man,” Powell’s character, Gary Johnson, is a quiet, unassuming professor living a solitary life in New Orleans. He’s a far cry from the typical leading man, with his ill-fitting polo shirts, knee-length jean shorts, and semi-orthopedic sandals. But when he’s thrust into the world of undercover work, Gary transforms into a suave, confident hitman, complete with wigs, makeup, and fake tattoos.

The film’s premise is moderately amusing, but it’s Powell’s chemistry with co-star Madison that truly shines. As “Ron,” Gary’s alter ego, he exudes confidence and charm, making it easy to see why Madison falls for him. Their romance is electric, reminiscent of George Clooney and Jennifer Lopez in “Out of Sight.”

While “Hit Man” is an enjoyable, glossy romp, it falls short of being a truly memorable action-comedy-romance. The third act introduces some exciting twists, but the film could benefit from a bigger twist or higher stakes.

“Hit Man” is a fun, lighthearted romp that showcases Powell’s leading man credentials. While it may not be the second coming of the action-comedy-romance, it’s an enjoyable way to spend an evening.
